There's been nothing but silence around these parts lately. Finals and the end of the semester bled right into Governor's School and it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that every waking minute of my day is filled with students or grades or kids or writing. In addition, Brian and I are renewing our wedding vows in celebration of 10th anniversary. While I could bore you with details about how we eloped the first time around, or how that elopement came after I cancelled two weddings, or how shopping for party supplies and planning a menu is not as much fun as one would hope, I will instead share with you my favorite part of this whole renewal process.
These are my wedding shoes. I love them. I'm wearing them right now. I walk around in them because they make me happy.

There's no place like home! What excellent looking shoes! Never take them off! Perhaps I am just shallow and live a life a meaningless bourgeois pettiness -- but so much can be made better with the well timed purchase of a pair of excellent shoes. Maybe that should be my blog shoeiness (rhymes with chewiness).
They are lovely shoes. I still don't know what I'm wearing to your vow renewal.
Claire--you should totally get a blog called shoeiness.
Alison--We should go shopping. Department stores are our friends.
I'm an occasional lurker on your blog (i found it through lowcountryblogs; i have my own unaffiliated blog on LiveJournal). I could not resist from commenting on this post--I had no idea you were affiliated with the Governor's School. I'm a guvie alum myself (class of 1990) and absolutely adore my memories of that place. You being involved with it earns you my instant respect! I still keep in touch with GS, somewhat, through occasional contact with Maria Richardson.
I hope this year's GS is going great! I can't tell you how much I miss it. Those were probably the best and most important 5 weeks of my life.
